OfficeR Extended compilation appearance
N-Collectives most furious wind ensemble, DBO will conduct an intensive Research & Development period i Bergen, Norway. 7 days of intense work, 2 concerts and 2 recording days in Grieghallen Studio, home of notorious black-metal acts like Burzum, Gorgoroth, Enslaved and others. No sound wil be un-blown..
Main focus of the work will be developing startegies for pitch-selection, especially targeting those intense psycho-accoustic effects created by layering sustained chords in the upper register. Informed by physical models of sound phenomena like difference tones/combination tones, missing fundamentals, beat frequensies and the calculation of room accoustics, the trio will develop materials and forms for both recording and live purposes.
