    Recent developments in Amsterdam improvised music are to a large extent projected upon people unaware of certain applications concerning flute playing and noise structures in general resulting in chaos, yet ordered in it`s own self-styled premise on linear moment form and detailed sound, straight out of the analogue catalogue. Phô sessions have a tendency to uplift and project the electronic body, working from a common focus, stills and stops and freezes, kind of sculptural thing, with reciprocal sound/movement/activity structures which in themselves involve the origination of pure sound, a lot of it, plenty, a plentitude of movement inside the domain of tight collective sound formings, extended and transformed into even higher, more intensly deformed zones where the mind can follow and the body remains. Phô concerts have been compared to depleted nuclear testing grounds where repetitive forms continue into hourlong dronelike particle eruptions particular to historical models yet retaining the momentum of contemporary, concentrated noisemaking without compromise but instead a sense of form, duration, and sound, drawn from an inside perspective on musical aesthetics and a taste for the extreme. good luck guys.KN(02)
